Confirmation
We offer confirmation to both children and adults who desire to become full communicant members of Family of Christ. The confirmation course for children is generally a two-year-course, beginning in 7th grade. There are exceptions to this based on the spiritual maturity of the child. The confirmation course for adults is a six week program. Anyone in the 9th grade or above has the option of participating in the adult class.
In the confirmation classes we cover what Lutherans believe. We cover what Luther called the six chief parts. These include The Ten Commandments, The Apostle’s Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, The Office of the Keys and Holy Communion. We also emphasize how we as Family of Christ worship and how we operate. The basis for all of our teaching and doctrine is scripture.
